What gear does everyone think an admin should carry? Here is what I would like to see people have on them for games...
-Radio (high power UHF radio with FRS frequencies programed in) -Camera (small digital camera to take event photos and photos of people who have been issued warnings/disciplined) -Pocket guide with standard AP rules -first aid kit -Orange vest (if we decide to go that route)

There's been some discussion elsewhere as to whether admins should be armed so as to provide the ability to do "honor checks". I think this is a terrible idea. Good to see it's not on the list.
Your list looks pretty solid for a starting point. Maybe a breakdown of what should be in a first aid kit. Everyone loves standards.
I'm preferential to a brightly colored (or dayglo) t-shirt or other identification besides an orange vest, with "ADMIN" in screenprinting across the back and maybe something on the front.
Radios: we need a channel that's not accessible to the FRS radios in addition to the FRS frequencies. I can lay my hands on some radios if need be (they're in the 900MHz band, though, so not immediately useful), working on trading them for IC-F21s. I know PSC and SOTA have picked a couple of random frequencies, so it wouldn't be hard to find a third one that won't interfere with their communications.

On the vest, does it need to be orange? I can get green vests easier than I can orange.

Armed or not: I think that would be up to the event host. I will admit, it's nice to have the ability to check someone who has been reported as not calling hits... but I also understand not doing it.
Bright clothing: I like the idea of bright shirts (I'd rather go with something more professional like a polo as opposed to a regular T-shirt).
Radio: I'll be using my ICOM F-21 as my radio. It has the standard FRS channels 1-14 programmed in, and also 2 UHF frequencies that few people know the channel. These are 4 watt radios, and work amazingly well. I've been able to keep contact all over SniperzDen (the largest field we use). I'd like to see everyone get one of these radios to use, but I understand that may not be possible. Another option for those who are HAM operators, if you have a dual band radio, you can program in the frequencies that I'm talking about and not worry about a new set up.

I've got an F-21, and it shouldn't be too hard to find brightly colored polo shirts.

I say Range Red Polo & Red Boonie / Baseball Cap. We can find a place to silk screen them w/ "Admin"

Great! An excuse to buy a new boonie!
Love it. I do like the polo shirt idea, too.
As to the "armed" thing. That's silly. An admin's job is NOT to effect gameplay (like by shooting someone). If you think a guy is hacking, watch him. Also, if you were an admin and shot me as a player, you'd just get yelled at. Ask Randal.

I talked to the safety person here at work, she is going to look into the cost of getting dayglo green polo shirts. I will report back, when I get pricing info. She said that the pricing will be the same on the shirts until we need something larger than xxl.
EDIT- pricing:
$26.10 for the polo style shirts in dayglo. I can get the regular t-shirt style for about $15 a piece..

I like the idea of dayglo polos better than a T-Shirt.
I especially will like chewing out the guy who shoots you while you're wearing it. "What? The dayglo wasn't enough? How about the word 'Admin' in big letters?!?"

Works for me. Polos would probably be a more "polished" look. I'll see if I can track down the vendor that does our shirts and see if they can get day-glo green for something south of $26 and have 'em screenprinted to boot.
I have, at the present, 20 900MHz digital radios. They won't work with the IC-F21s or anything down on the 450MHz chunk of the spectrum. We're in the process of trying to do a one-for-one swap for IC-F4011s or something similar which would work down on the same band as the IC-F21s.

So what sort of time frame are we looking at in order to get this stuff and start doing our thing?

So what sort of time frame are we looking at in order to get this stuff and start doing our thing? I've already offered our services up to the event promoters on AP. Ideally, they'll come to us and ask us to help out. I'm going to talk to Rick and see if he has any games he wants us at.
