Some people have asked why we require a CPR/First Aid certification. The reason is simple: who gets called when someone gets hurt? The admins. By being CPR/First Aid certified, we give the event hosts some piece of mind in case something may happen. We provide immediate care according to the standards of the American Heart Association and the American Red Cross. For anyone interested in getting CPR certified, check out the American Heart Association. www.heart.org/HEARTORG/CPRAndECC/CPR_UCM_001118_SubHomePage.jsp

I was looking at the aha website you linked to and I have a question. Just which class should I be going to? I believe their "Family and Friends CPR" course is the basic layperson CPR certification. The BLS course isn't much longer, timewise, but covers two-person CPR and some other stuff that might be helpful. The American Red Cross also offers a basic "First Aid and CPR" course for those who are interested. I've taken courses from AHA and ARC instructors and they're pretty similar. Of course, I suppose it depends on the instructor you get, as a good instructor makes any program better.

Is there some sort of group program available so we could all go together?
It may be an issue with everyone having their own schedules and whatnot though.

I just got a PM on AP from someone who works at the Clakamas Community Center offering to see if he could get us a discount on a group Red Cross CPR certification. Obviously if you have it already, you don't need to get it again (unless it's going to expire). I'll let you all know whats going on with it when I hear something.

If anyone needs/wants to get their CPR certification near the Portland area, I found this: www.cprlifeline.com/Heartsaver.htmlClasses listed for July and August, price isn't bad. At the minimum I'd like to see everyone with Adult CPR/AED. If you are around kids a lot (either your own, or other peoples) I'd add the Pediatric CPR to it. First Aid if you want, but it's pretty easy and most common sense dictates how to treat most injuries on an airsoft field.
